| Dr. Okamoto was born and raised in Honolulu, HI. She earned her undergraduate degree in Liberal Studies - Human Sciences from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. She continued her studies at the University of Missouri at Kansas City where she received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. There she was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society. She earned her Certificate in Orthodontics as well as a Master's degree in Oral Biology from UCLA.
Dr. Okamoto's professional affiliations include the American Association of Orthodontists, Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, California Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, California Dental Association, Academy for Orthodontic Excellence, and the Orange County Women's Dental Society.

Dr. Okamoto has been in private practice since 1994. She has been in her present location in Costa Mesa since 1999. She was a faculty member of the UCLA School of Dentistry for 15 years.

When away from her practice, Dr. Okamoto enjoys yoga, traveling, arts and crafts, and spending time with her husband Jim, their son, and their two cats.
